Gero Rural E-bike Tour is a guided bike tour in Maze village and Hagiwara town, just a short hop from Gero Onsen. This cycling activity will offer you not only local stories of Gero but a new insight of Japan’s countryside.
Starting at JR Hida Hagiwara station, you will understand how Hagiwara town has been connected with Takayama area, and how people in Maze village has lived together with nature. You will find the clear difference between those as the tour goes on.
E-bikes enable you to go up a hill so easily with feeling mountain breeze and stream sound. At some spots during the tour, you will take beautiful pictures of the countryside and hear a lot of things about local history and culture you would never know without a guide.
Lunch is always the highlight of tour since not only it is tasty but all of dishes are made with local products. Through the 6 hours and 26 km long leisurely e-bike tour, you will enjoy the rural area in Gero to your heart’s content.

Leisurely cycling at the beautiful village called Maze. Those stunning views will definitely inspire you.
Lunch is always the highlight of tour. The landlady will entertain you with the beautiful meals made with full of local ingredients.
Cycling after lunch, you will head for the private riverside beach. It must be the most leisurely and luxurious time to taste ground coffee while seeing the magnificent view.

Yes. You can leave your suitcase at the store nearby the JR station.
For 9:00 tour, you should take 8:00 train at Takayama, and 9:00 train at Gero. For 11:30, 10:24 at Takayama and 11:33 at Gero. It depends but we can adjust departure time with your itinerary so please let us know when booking if required.
