Gohei Mochi originates to long ago, when people working in the mountains stuck rice on pieces of wood. They grilled and ate it with miso when drinking sake. People carried it as lunch. Gohei Mochi are basically made for praying a good harvest but locals like it so much, then they are made when all family members gather or when guests are around.

In this activity, you will grasp how people in Gero have been connected with Gohei Mochi, how to make it and have some conversation with a warm local mother. All generations are welcome to experience and enjoy the deep local culture!
